Simpson Thacher & Bartlett Signs 40,000-SF Lease at 900 G St.

One of the world’s leading international law firms is moving to 900 G Street, N.W. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP has recently signed a 15-year lease for 40,000 square feet of space in the building. MRP Realty and ASB Real Estate Investments made the announcement on Tuesday, January 20.

One of the world’s leading international law firms is moving to 900 G St., N.W. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett L.L.P. signed a 15-year lease for 40,000 square feet of space in the building, according to building owners MRP Realty and ASB Real Estate Investments.

The nine-story trophy office building is located on the southwest corner of Ninth and G streets, close to the Verizon Center, National Portrait Gallery, hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues. It offers 113,000 square feet of space, with 13,293-square-foot floor plates, 30×40-foot column spacing and floor-to-ceiling windows. Amenities include a two-story lobby, a 2,000-square-foot fitness center, a 3,000-square-foot rooftop terrace and more. The property is also LEED Gold certified.

Simpson Thacher will move to its new home in July and will occupy the top three floors in the building. The international law firm is currently located at 1155 F St., N.W., where it houses more than 45 lawyers. According to Peter Thomas, managing partner of Simpson Thacher’s Washington, D.C., office, the new location will offer more space and will meet the growing firm’s real estate needs.
