Rockbridge has selected Interstate Hotels & Resorts to manage The Westin Portland Harborview, a 289-key hospitality asset in Portland, Maine. New Castle Hotels & Resorts previously oversaw the historic building’s operations.
Located at 157 High St., the building rises 13 stories amidst the city’s Arts District, a 10-minute walk from downtown Portland. The hotel is within half a mile of more than 2.8 million square feet of office space, per Yardi Matrix data. A dozen public transportation routes operate alongside the structure, providing direct access to much of the metro area.
The property first opened its doors as the Eastland Park Hotel in 1927. Following Rockbridge’s acquisition of the historic asset in 2011, the owner kicked off a $50 million restoration project, after which the hotel was reflagged as The Westin in December 2013. The building includes a mix of guestrooms and suites, ranging from 325 to 2,000 square feet. Guest amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, a spa, a business center and 16,006 square feet of conference and meeting space.
In November 2018, Rockbridge partnered with Hospitality Ventures Management Group to purchase a Sheraton hotel in Jacksonville, Fla. More than $1 million in renovation work is planned for the asset.
