RJM Construction Tapped to Build Porsche Dealership in Golden Valley

Carousel Motor Group has selected RJM Construction to develop a new facility for its Porsche dealership in Hennepin County. Located at 9595 Wayzata Blvd. in Golden Valley, the new facility will be built on the dealership’s current parking lot.

“Working with RJM, we looked at both remodeling and expanding the existing facility versus building a new one,” Carousel Motor Group president Jay Hulbert explained in a statement. “Ultimately, building new allowed us to minimize the disruption to our business and gave us more flexibility with planning our new space.”

The new structure will feature an expanded showroom, a repair shop, exterior metal façade, a curtainwall system and interior finishes using Porsche’s signature colors. The dealership will remain open throughout the project.

Construction is scheduled to start in October and is slated for completion next July. Minneapolis-based Baker Associates is the architect of record.

RJM and Carousel Motor Group are both part of the Pohlad Companies, whose diversified holdings range from the Minnesota Twins to real estate, banking and automotive companies. Last year, Carousel and RJM collaborated on the construction of a new facility for Chevrolet in North Branch, Minn.
