The company continues to grow its building operations by appointing a new COO, three regional executive officers and three executive vice presidents & general managers.

Chris Toher, chief operating officer, Skanska U.S.A.

Skanska USA has made several promotions to its senior leadership team for the firm’s building operations. Chris Toher has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Jim Link, Len Ventrone and Kerim Evin will take on the role of regional executive officers for the West, California and East, respectively.

Additionally, Raul Rosales, Kevin McCain and Bryan Northrop will serve as executive vice presidents & general managers for Los Angeles, Seattle and the New England region, respectively. Lastly, Paul Hewins, current president & CEO for Skanska’s U.S. building operations, will serve as acting regional executive officer for the New York metro market.

“We are always looking for ways to create a more nimble and flexible organization that drives innovation and allows Skanska to be both connected to our local communities and national operations,” said Hewins, in a prepared statement. “These promotions streamline our organizational leadership team, so we can better support our strong network of local offices, project teams and, ultimately, all of the customers we serve.”

Role responsibilities

Jim Link, regional executive officer, West, Skanska U.S.A.

As COO, Toher will be responsible for national operations, policies, functions and procedures. His focus will be to drive the most efficient and effective best practices for the company. Prior to this role, Toher spent his 30-year construction career at Skanska, most recently as Seattle’s executive vice president & general manager, the position that Kevin McCain will now be filling.

Link, Vetrone and Evin will be overseeing the regional general managers in each respective region and help lead the business strategy, succession planning, implementation of national policy, people development and national connectivity, as regional executive officers. All three have more than three decades of experience in the construction industry.

Northrop, who has been working at Skanska for more than 20 years, is taking over Evin’s previous position as executive vice president & general manager for the New England region.

Just last month, Skanska appointed Todd Lofgren as senior vice president and account manager at its Blue Bell, Pa., office, where he will be responsible for the company’s regional strategy and lead the account management team.
