Peace Corps Relocates DC Headquarters

With help from Savills Studley, Peace Corps has signed a new lease at the One Constitution Square building in Washington, D.C. The agency plans to relocate its headquarters to the 173,000-square-foot office starting next year. The NoMa building is less than three miles away from the agency’s former West End location of 20 years—1111 20th St. N.W.

One Constitution Square also hosts the offices of the Department of Justice; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and several other federal agencies. The 12-story, 350,000-square-foot office building located at 1275 First St. N.W. is LEED-Platinum certified. Completed in 2010, it offers an array of amenities as well as proximity to the NoMa Metro Station, hotels, luxury apartments and several retail businesses including a Harris Teeter grocery store.   

“The NoMa building will include much-needed conferencing facilities, teaming rooms, and media centers to increase opportunities for communication and collaboration across our overseas and domestic offices,” said Peace Corps CEO Sheila Crowley in prepared remarks.

Savills Studley’s Corporate Managing Director Todd Valentine brokered the deal on behalf of the tenant. In August, the company brokered another lease at a LEED-certified office building in Washington, D.C., 99M.
