Marriott has revealed plans to open its first development in Italy, W Rome, a 159-key hotel set across two historic buildings in the Via Veneto neighborhood. Omnam Group will be developing the property through a real estate fund managed by Kryalos SGR.

Central location

Located near the famous Spanish Steps and Via Condotty, the hotel features an Extreme WOW suite—the brand’s take on the traditional presidential suite. W Rome will offer amenities such as a rooftop bar, W Living Room lobby concept, FIT workout facility, two spas and the brand’s signature Whatever/Whenever service. Additionally, W Rome will offer some 1,300 square feet of meeting space and two restaurants.

“This collaboration reflects our ambitions for this distinctive landmark development, and we could not imagine a better or more qualified operator than Marriott International and its phenomenal W Hotels brand,” David Zisser, founder & CEO of Omnam Group said in a statement. “The combination of the central location and beauty of this historic building, together with the distinct personality and cutting-edge style of the brand, presents a prime opportunity to provide a new luxury hotel experience in Rome.”

Marriott currently has ten W Hotel properties under development in Europe, with W Tel Aviv scheduled to open early next year, followed by Madrid, Belgrad and the Algarve in 2019. Prague and Budapest hotels are slated to open in 2020, and Rome, Marbella and Edinburgh in 2021.
