Following last year’s debut in Budapest, Hyatt Hotels Corp. has partnered with Realtejo Hotelaria e Turismo S.A.—a subsidiary of United Investment Portugal and Fibeira—to open Hyatt Regency Lisbon, a 200-key hotel in Portugal’s capital. The development will be the first Hyatt hotel in the country.

Located between Rua Guerra Junqueiro and Avenida da Índia, the hotel is in close proximity to Lisbon’s historic city center and to various shopping, dining and entertainment venues including the Belem Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery, two UNESCO World Heritage venues. Additionally, the property will be approximately 18 miles from the Lisbon Portela Airport. Lisbon’s tourism has increased in the past years, with 12.8 million travelers visiting in 2018.

Hyatt Regency Lisbon is expected to include common-area amenities such as a spa, swimming pool, rooftop terrace bar, courtyard and a garden. The property is set to open in late 2020.

Hyatt has continued its rollout of the Regency brand in Europe with the opening of Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée and plans to open Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fira and Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid.
