Poll Results: How Are You Using AI?

This technology is the talk of the industry. CPE readers weigh in.

In Commercial Property Executive’s most recent monthly reader poll, respondents were asked about their firms’ uses of artificial intelligence and automation in their business practices, at a time when the sector’s appetite for new technologies becomes more refined.

Accounting for 50 percent of responses was an even split between readers listing marketing and outreach as their top uses, with the other half stating that they are not using it, for the time being. Both responses reflect the widespread opinion that automation, at present, serves best as an assistant to more rudimentary business and management tasks, and not an outright replacement. Others may be more skeptical of its utility at the moment, with the same number stating that they are holding off in adopting it. Finally, 25 percent listed other, unlisted uses as their primary adoptions of automation, where priorities often differ immensely by asset type.

Similarly, 24 percent of respondents split their listings between using automation for data analysis, due diligence in deal making and as its own form of back office. Like marketing, such tasks are often data-driven, requiring little to no human input.
