The Opus Group has completed its second corporate project this month—the ready-to-fit headquarters of MC Machinery Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corp. The 175,000-square-foot mixed-use facility in Elk Grove Village, Ill. took one year to complete.

The total space is divided between 50,000 square feet of office space, 75,000 square feet of warehouse and storage areas and an additional 50,000 square feet serving as an industrial machinery showroom. The facility encompasses special areas dedicated to creating parts from metal powders via specialized 3D machines, machine refurbishment, research and development and product demonstrations.

The new site at 85 Northwest Point Blvd. was developed in order to accommodate MC Machinery’s growing business and employee base, formerly located in Wood Dale, Ill. It is highly visible from Interstate 90 and less than 12 miles from the Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

Opus Design Build LLC was the design-builder for this project, Opus AE Group LLC was the architect and structural engineer of record, while Heitman Architects Inc. was the design architect and architect of record.

Earlier in May, Opus announced the completion of Delta Defense headquarters in West Bend, Wisc.
