The Opus Group recently completed a 44,000-square-foot industrial expansion in the West Dundee village of Kane County, Ill.

As previously reported by Commercial Property Executive, Minneapolis-based Opus had been working on an expansion for Taiwan-based King Shan LLC. The new facility was erected adjacent to the company’s existing 35,000-square-foot building in Oakview Corporate Park, also built by Opus back in 2010.

“It was a pleasure to work with King Shan again as they expand their operations in the U.S.,” said Jim Caesar, regional vice president of Opus Design Build. “Returning customers are a true testament to the strong relationships we build with clients and the quality of work we deliver.”

King Shan, a manufacturer of steel wire and metal fabrication products, planned to expand its production and distribution operations by adding more space to its only U.S. facility. The new building more than doubles the company’s space, with an additional 42,500 square feet of warehouse space and 1,500 square feet of office space. The two buildings are connected via a graded drive aisle and feature 24-foot clear height, three dock doors and a large conference area.

Construction on the project began in the fall of 2014 and was completed in March 2015. Opus Design Build LLC served as the project’s design-builder, while Opus AE Group LLC handled architecture and structural engineering.
