NJ Shopping Center Adds New Tenant

Asian Food Markets signed a lease to occupy 43,152 square feet in Onyx Equities’ Plainsboro Plaza Shopping Center, becoming the property’s anchor tenant.

Onyx Equities has welcomed Asian Food Markets to the tenant roster of Plainsboro Plaza Shopping Center in Plainsboro, N.J. The grocery store chain will become the property’s anchor tenant by leasing 43,152 square feet. The company is relocating from Princeton Meadows Shopping Center in Plainsboro, N.J., and will occupy the space SuperFresh vacated.

The 220,000-square-foot property is the township’s largest shopping center and is home to 39 shops. Other tenants include Planet Fitness, CVS Pharmacy, Lightbridge Academy, Dollar Tree, PNC Bank, BCB Bank, Romeo’s Ristorante, Goldcore Jewelers and Allied Vision Services.

Located at 10 Schalks Crossing Road, at the highly transited intersection with Scudders Mill Road, Plainsboro Plaza Shopping Center offers easy access to major corporations such as Princeton Medical Center, Bristol-Meyers Squibb and Nova Nordisk. According to Yardi Matrix, more than 110,000 residents inhabit the 5-mile radius area around the asset, with an average household income of roughly $114,000.

R.J. Brunelli & Co. Senior Sales Associate Pete Nicholson represented the tenant in the lease transaction. Last January, the landlord purchased a 1.6 million-square-foot office campus in Newark, N.J.
