NexCore Breaks Ground on New Medical Office Building in Germantown’s Holy Cross Health Campus
NexCore Group has recently broken ground on a medical office building, located in the new Holy Cross Health hospital campus in Germantown. The Denver-based national healthcare developer will own and manage the new facility, scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2015.

NexCore Group broke ground on a medical office building in the new Holy Cross Health hospital campus in Germantown. The Denver-based national healthcare developer will own and manage the new facility, scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2015.
The Holy Cross Health hospital campus is located within the Hercules Pinkney Life Sciences Park on the Montgomery College campus. It is the home of the new, six-story Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, the first new hospital in Montgomery County in 35 years, which is scheduled to open next month.
The new medical office building will be connected to the 93-bed hospital and a 696-space parking garage on the ground floor by a one-story, climate-controlled connector. Standing four stories tall, with 79,491 square feet of space, the facility will house a full complement of physician services, both primary care and specialty, as well as diagnostic and retail services. According to the developers, it will “play an integral role on the Germantown campus.”
NexCore is developing the building to LEED Silver standards. Hord Coplan Macht Inc. is the project’s architect, with Whiting-Turner as the construction manager. NexCore did not reveal the cost of the project. It expects to complete the new building by next August.
“The medical office building on the Holy Cross Germantown Hospital campus is one of three outpatient-care centers that NexCore is currently developing for CHE Trinity Health in different parts of the country,” Jarrod Daddis, executive managing director of development at NexCore Group, said in a statement for the press. “The Germantown medical office building is a unique facility because of its direct connection to the first new hospital in Montgomery County in 35 years, its location within a life sciences park, and its incorporation of LEED Silver building standards.”
