Newmark Expands Reach Across Western US

This alliance will strengthen its presence in five states.

Newmark is bolstering its presence in five Western U.S. states with an alliance agreement with Mountain West Commercial Real Estate, a CRE brokerage firm active in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and Nevada.

Under the agreement, Mountain West will operate as Newmark Mountain West, leveraging Newmark’s global brand and network, but it will be an independently owned and operated member of the Newmark Licensee Group. The service provider has 200 employees, with offices in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Clearfield, Pleasant Grove and St. George in Utah; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Reno and Las Vegas in Nevada, among other locations.

The alliance creates value by combining Mountain West’s regional expertise with Newmark’s wide-ranging resources and global platform, Newmark COO Lou Alvarado said in prepared remarks.

Since 2022, more than 5,000 transactions throughout five countries and 39 states were completed between the two groups, totaling more than $9.3 billion. The team of broker-advisors has been involved in some of the region’s top transactions in recent history, including a $370 million Amazon industrial portfolio sale across the western U.S.; a 270,000-square-foot industrial lease in Layton, Utah; and the $91.5 million sale of the Marriott Courtyard hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.
