The residents of Howell, Mich., and the surrounding area will benefit from a brand-new Ascension ambulatory care center, now that MedCraft has finished building the facility.

As Commercial Property Executive reported, construction work began in the second quarter of last year, when St. John Providence, one of the largest providers of inpatient care in Michigan, appointed MedCraft to build the 60,000-square-foot medical facility at the Latson Road exit on Interstate 96. Interior design firm Diekema Hamann and contractor CSM Group were also part of the team. The project required funding of $13.5 million to complete.

The new outpatient center will offer the Livingston county community access to primary and specialty care including family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, pulmonology and audiology. Health care services also include diagnostic imaging (with 3-D mammography), lab, physical therapy and occupational health. An urgent care unit will also be available for 10 hours daily, seven days a week.

With the medical center in Howell ready to serve the community, Ascension Health operates more than 2,500 sites of care in 24 states and the District of Columbia.
