Lynne O’Brien, director, Corporate Real Estate, at the Coca Cola Co., received a 2014 Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Impact Award in the Economic and Community Development category. O’Brien discusses leadership qualities. Great leaders show an interest in the people on their teams, which motivates, and engenders a sense of loyalty in, their employees, says O’Brien.

Barbara Champoux, partner at Crowell & Moring L.L.P., received a 2014 Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Impact Award in the Member-to-Member Business category. “Take risks. Be fearless, but be smart,” says Champoux. “Focus on team, not on self. Encourage collaboration, not competition.”

Sara Silvio, president of Constructive Ingenuity L.L.C., received a 2014 Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network Impact Award under the Career Advancement for Women category. Leaders need to understand the individual strengths of those they are leading; have a clear vision that they communicate early and often; and “walk the talk,” says Silvio.

Back in August 2014 news broke that Australian co-working and virtual office firm Servcorp had signed a 34,775-square-foot 15-year lease for the 85th floor of OneWTC in Manhattan. CPE was recently invited down to tour the space and meet with COO Marcus Moufarrige.

Mindy Planer, partner at Arnall Golden Gregory LLP, received a 2014 CREW Network Impact Award for Economic and Community Development. “Life is going to deal you some lumps. Don’t give up,” says Planer.

CREW Network’s top 2014 honor, the Circle of Excellence Award, went to the global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. A leader needs to be a listener, says Jane Snoddy Smith, head of Real Estate, U.S. And, “you can always speak the truth in love.”

Pamela Little, president and CEO, EcoWise Civil Design and Consulting Inc., received a 2014 CREW Network Impact Award under the Career Advancement for Women category. Good leaders “communicate clearly, kindly and concisely,” says Little.
