Melton Truck Lines, a Tulsa-based company specializing in flatbed trailers, has moved into its new home at 808 N. 161 E. Ave., Tulsa World reports. The 77,000-square-foot headquarters will house 150 of the company’s 220 Tulsa employees and the company will celebrate its grand opening April 30th.

Fleming Building Co. developed the three-story headquarters, which was designed by Kinslow, Keith & Todd. The facility incorporates a 3,500-square-foot health and fitness area, a restaurant and a gear shop, and was designed to accommodate Melton’s growing staff.

Russ Elliot, senior vice president of operations at Melton told Tulsa World that the company plans to expand its team to 2,000 truck drivers and add 150 support staff at its new base.

Melton Truck Lines started as a small business in Arkansas in the 1950s and was acquired by Bob Peterson, owner of GlasTran, in 1991. The company then merged with GlasTran and moved its headquarters to Tulsa. Melton currently operates six facilities in four states and employs 1,100 truck drivers and 300 support staff.
