Marcus & Millichap Ranks No. 1 Self-Storage Agent for 2015

Michael A. Mele of the Mele Storage Group is Marcus & Millichap’s top self-storage broker for 2015.

The Mele Storage Group of Marcus & Millichap announced that Michael A. Mele, senior vice president Investments and senior director of the National Self Storage Group, was recognized as the top broker in the Tampa office of Marcus & Millichap and second throughout the firm’s Florida offices for 2015. For the year overall, Mele has been ranked ninth in the company and first in self-storage. Marcus & Millichap boasts more than 1,500 investment professionals throughout the U.S.

Mele joined Marcus & Millichap in May 1999 in the Tampa office and quickly rose to Associate in 2000, then to Senior Associate in 2002. By 2005, Mele was inducted as a Senior Investment Associate and then elected to Vice President Investments in January 2008. Mele reached First Vice President Investments in April 2011 and later in July 2014, he was elected as Senior Vice President Investments.

On May 28, 2015, Mele qualified for Marcus & Millichap’s National Achievement Award (NAA) and shortly after earned the Platinum National Achievement on June 2, 2015. He was then elected into the Chairman’s Club on July 6, 2015. By September 30, 2015, Mele earned the highest honor in Marcus & Millichap through his induction into the Chairman’s Circle of Excellence, consisting of the top 23 agents for the firm. Mele is the only self-storage agent to earn this honor for 2015.

The Mele Group is Marcus & Millichap’s top self-storage advisory team. The group’s core client base consists of individual property owners while representing both publicly-traded and non-publicly traded REITs, as well as private institutional-level funds and firms. In 2015 alone, the Mele Group closed 47 self-storage transactions in 11 states for over $280 million in volume.
