Office and meeting services provider Convene is on the brink of opening its largest-ever location. The firm signed a 93,096-square-foot, five-story lease at Brookfield Properties’ 2.3 million-square-foot One Liberty Plaza in Lower Manhattan. An opening date for One Liberty Convene is set for the first quarter of 2019, marking the company’s 15th New York City location.

On the building’s 4,798-square-foot ground-floor, Convene will run a café and coffee shop. The 12,339-square-foot mezzanine and 28,708-square-foot second floor will include full-service meeting and event space, while the third story will have flexible office space across 44,751 square feet for teams of 10 to 100 employees. The company will also provide a full on-site hospitality and culinary program including meeting, event and workplace catering, as well as food and beverages for existing tenants.

One Liberty Plaza spreads throughout 50 stories at 1 Liberty St., in the midst of retailers, eateries, accommodation options, parks and a variety of public transportation options, including Fulton Street Transit Center and World Trade Center Path Station. Some of the most recent tenants to join the roster are Aon, Business Insider and New Avon.

Bonding with Brookfield

The two companies’ relationship goes back to 2017, when Convene partnered with Brookfield Properties in securing a $68 million round of series C funding for business growth. Additionally, Convene opened three locations in three Brookfield-owned Class A assets in downtown Los Angeles and plans to open four more in the same area. The flexible workplace company plans to expand its presence across multiple U.S. markets this year, aided by the acquisition of mobile workplace analytics and data platform Beco.

Not only will Convene now be positioned near robust mass transit and a flourishing Lower Manhattan business community, the space allows us to incorporate all of the elements that are central to Convene’s success—purpose-built meeting and event spaces overlooking green space at Zucotti Park, modern and elegant flexible office space, hotel-style meeting and hospitality services, all enabled by user-friendly technology,” Convene Co-Founder & CEO Ryan Simonetti said in a prepared remark.
