Landwell, D.R. Horton Launch Residential Projects

The company would build around 1,400 residential units, part of the initial phase of the project, occupying 320 acres of land in the vicinity of the ambitious Union Village health care-focused project. Entering development under the name of Cadence, the community will feature a neighborhood park, a retail complex as well as some office space, according to Landwell company officials.

Economy Watch: LPS: Home Prices Edge Up in December; Chicago Fed Says Economic Activity Dips; Italian Elections Generate Uncertainty for Eurozone

U.S. home prices were up 0.1 percent in December compared with November, and up 5.8 percent year over year. The Federal Reserve of Chicago said its National Activity Index decreased to –0.32 in January from +0.25 in December. And Italy held parliamentary elections over the weekend, and the result was inconclusive for the eurozone.

146-Room Boutique Hotel Planned for Pearl

The Pearl development will have a new boutique hotel next year, as Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants was selected to operate a 146-room project on the former brewery site. The boutique hotel will include two new restaurants, a roof-top pool, venue space facing the San Antonio River and a cocktail bar.

Seattle’s New Skyscraper to Get SLS-Branded Boutique Hotel

The SLS Hotel Seattle will occupy floors 2 through 15, and offer guests 184 rooms to choose from, all designed with its signature boutique-style in mind. Located at 5th and Columbia in the city’s downtown, the new skyscraper will begin construction during this year’s Q4 with a 2016 completion date in its sights. The hotel’s guest amenities will include 20,000 square feet of meeting space, a spa, fitness facilities, and 30,000 square feet of food and beverage outlets.

University Hospitals to Start Two New Construction Projects in Cleveland Area

University Hospitals is busy at work in the greater Cleveland area. It plans to bring a medical office building and a full service outpatient center to Euclid and Solon respectively.
