Economy Watch: Personal Income, Expenditures Up; Freddie Mac: Delinquencies Drop; Consumers More Pessimistic
U.S. personal income increased $57.2 billion, or 0.4 percent, in August compared with July. Freddie Mac reported that its single-family serious delinquency rate ticked down from 2.7 percent in July to 2.64 percent in August. And Reuters/University of Michigan reported that its final consumer sentiment index for September came in at 77.5, down from the August reading of 82.1.
