  • Name of project: Princeton Pike Corporate Center
  • Date of completion: 2017
  • Location of project: 989 and 1009 Lenox Ave., Princeton, N.J.
  • Architect on project: Joshua Zinder Achitecture + Design (JZA+D)
  • Type of project: Office
  • Client: Owner-developer Prism Capital Partners LLC (Vision Real Estate has since acquired both properties.)
  • Manufacturers used: Artemide (lighting), Steelcase (furniture), Muraflex (office front)
  • Amenities offered: (At 1009 Lenox Ave.) Newly renovated 5,000-square-foot, three-story atrium, trellis-like sculptural canopy with slats to allow natural light, lounge with stone water feature and colorful bench seating, lower-level cafe, fitness center. (At 989 Lenox Ave.) Newly renovated lobby, updated exterior, open lounge, cafe, fitness center.
  • Why this project is notable: JZA+D worked with the client on its goal to make these late 1980s buildings competitive with more modern, Class A properties in the area and meet current workplace trends. The central atrium at 1009 Lenox Ave. was transformed into a lively hub of activity with natural light and open spaces. A new staircase connected the previously inaccessible pedestrian bridge, creating easier access to the lower-level cafe and lounge areas. These updated amenities were important to accommodate the growing Millennial workforce that “tend to work long hours, so they want their workplace to be a second home,” Joshua Zinder, founding principal of JZA+D stated. “They don’t want to have to get back into their cars to go for a coffee…Workplace amenities are a big part of staying competitive.”
