INTERNATIONAL: 313-Room Luxury Ritz-Carlton Debuts in Bali

A 313-room Ritz-Carlton luxury resort has opened in Bali, Indonesia, on the southern tip of Nusa Dua, an area that is home to some of the world’s most exclusive international hotel brands, including St. Regis, Courtyard by Marriott, Hyatt, and Westin.

Situated on roughly 31 acres of beach-front and cliff-top land in Sawangan, Nusa Dua, the new Ritz-Carlton successfully blends local traditions with international influences. According to a news release, a central theme of the resort is the Tree of Life, referred to by locals as ‘Kalpataru’, while the ‘Anyaman’-style décor is heavily influenced by the design of local craftsmen and the surrounding landscape. The hotel consists of 313 guest suites, including 34 cliff-top and ocean view villas, and features a 230-foot high glass elevator offering access to the beach and unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bali features six upscale dining options, including an Indonesian restaurant, Bejana; The Beach Grill; Raku, a Japanese Lounge & Bar; The Ritz-Carlton Lounge & Bar; Senses, an all-day dining restaurant; and Breezes Tapas Lounge. Resort amenities include a private beachfront swimming pool, play and study spaces for children, an oceanfront wedding chapel, fitness center, business center, conference concierge, The Ritz-Carlton Gift Shop, Uluwatu Boutique, as well as meeting and event space to accommodate up to 200 guests. Additionally, The Ritz-Carlton Club Level features an exclusive sun deck for members only, while the soon-to-open Ritz-Carlton Spa will offer 14 treatment rooms incorporating both indoor and outdoor space.

The upscale resort is located in close proximity to the Ngurah Rai International Airport, Jimbaran Bay, the Pecatu and Uluwatu areas, as well as cultural sites such as Jatiluwih and Ubud.
