India-Based Stixis Technologies To Open First U.S. Development Center in Baton Rouge’s Louisiana Technology Park

Another technology company is coming to Baton Rouge, following on the footsteps of IBM, EA, Gameloft, GE Capital and many others. The new addition is India-based Stixis Technologies Inc. It announced last week it will open its first U.S. development center at the Louisiana Technology Park.

Stixis will lease existing incubator tenant space in the park. It also has the option to lease and build-out larger, customized technology space at the park, in order to accomodate its growth. The new location will be known as the Stixis AMIGOs Development Center, with AMIGOs representing Agility Metamorphosis Incubator for Global Operations.

The Louisiana Economic Development started discussions with Stixis in January 2014. Louisiana competed agains several other U.S. states for the company, including Virginia, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania and Wyoming, and won in the end. Stixis chose Baton Rouge after receiving a competitive incentive package that includes LED FastStart and the Digital Interactive Media and Software Development Incentive.

Stixis will create 230 new direct jobs in the area, with an average salary of $59,500 per year, plus benefits. It will start operations right away and expects to finish hiring the 230 employees by 2019. According to the LED, the project will also create 233 additional new indirect jobs in the Baton Rouge area. The company will also partner with LSU and will mentor students in an incubation boot camp through agile software development practices that cover big data analytics, business intelligence, mobility, cloud computing and social media applications using enterprise and open-source platforms.

“The Stixis AMIGOs Development Center will focus on innovation, which we think will be well-supported by highly skilled manpower available locally – scientists, engineers, university professors and research students,” Rayudu Dhananjaya, President and CEO of Stixis, added. “This center is expected to accelerate solutions development, streamline software product delivery and give rise to new business models that help enterprises run more efficiently and stay competitive.”
