HVMG Hires Industry Veteran as VP

John Edwards, VP, Hospitality Ventures Management Group

Miami—Atlanta-based Hospitality Ventures Management Group has announced the appointment of John Edwards as vice president of design and construction. In his new role, Edwards will work with the business development team, as well as brand and investor partners, on new development and renovation projects. He will also oversee capital expense planning for the company’s portfolio.

Edwards brings in nearly four decades of hospitality and commercial real estate development, design and construction experience. Prior to joining HVMG, he spent 15 years holding senior management and project development roles with companies such as Omni Hotels & Resorts, Gaylord Hotels and Las Vegas Sands Corp. Additional work experience includes senior positions with RTKL Associates, Lodging & Hospitality Systems Group and Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates.

Over the years, Edwards successfully completed an extensive range of hospitality projects, as well as predevelopment, preacquisition due diligence, programming, master planning and rezoning projects. He also worked on designing and developing luxury residential, retail and commercial office buildings. Architect by training, Edwards holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture from Clemson University.
