Holder Properties to Develop Blackbaud’s Eco-Friendly Campus

This will be the Atlanta-based company’s eighth office development in the Charleston area.

Charleston, S.C.Holder Properties is the developer of Blackbaud’s new corporate campus, a two-phase project planned for a 13-acre parcel on Daniel Island in Charleston, S.C. The first stage entails the construction of a four-story, 172,000-square-foot office building and a 650-space parking lot at the corner of Fairchild Street and Central Island Street.

Construction started in October and completion is scheduled in the first quarter of 2018, when Blackbaud plans to move into the new office. The second phase of the development is an addition of up to 175,000 square feet of office space. The campus was designed by ASD and will be built by London-based Balfour Beatty.

“Once complete, Blackbaud’s eco-friendly campus will serve as a generational investment in the Lowcountry, in Berkeley County and in the workforce of South Carolina. The new facility will provide a foundation for our growth as a company, offering not only a modern workplace for our employees, but also a unique community space to incubate emerging nonprofits,” Jon Olson, senior vice president & general counsel for Blackbaud, said in a prepared statement.

The new office building will aim for LEED certification and include car charging stations, LED lighting, low VOC materials and native landscaping. This is Holder Properties’ eighth office project in the Charleston area.

Lee Allen, Chase Monroe, Graham Summers, Denice Michel and John Robinson of JLL represented Blackbaud in closing the deal.
