Heritage Hotels Adds the Inn and Spa at Loretto to its Portfolio
The hotel brand, specializing in culturally distinct hotels in New Mexico, acquired the 42-year-old resort in partnership with an investor group led by Randy Talbot.

Heritage Hotels and Resorts Inc., in a joint venture with an investor group led by Randy Talbot, announced its acquisition of the award-winning Inn and Spa at Loretto. The Loretto increases the company’s Santa Fe portfolio, which includes Eldorado Hotel & Spa, Hotel St. Francis, Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe and the Lodge at Santa Fe.
The Inn and Spa at Loretto was built in 1975 by the Kirkpatrick family at 211 Old Santa Fe Trail on the former site of the historic Our Lady of Loretto Academy, located just two blocks from the historic Santa Fe plaza and adjacent to the gothic Loretto Chapel.
The 136-key hotel also offers one- and two-bedroom suites and features 1,995 square feet of indoor space, 1,032 square feet of outdoor space, five terraces, two baths, a second-story master suite, king beds, a full gourmet kitchen with a separate formal dining area and a sun terrace with an art studio.
The resort includes 12,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting, event and wedding spaces, and can accommodate groups of up to 300 people. Function space includes the 2,730-square-foot Zuni Ballroom, the 2,835-square-foot Chaco Ballroom and an outdoor sculpture garden with fire pit. In addition, the resort features the Luminaria Restaurant and Patio as well as The Living Room bar/lounge.
The Loretto also features the Spa at Loretto located off the hotel’s lobby and offers a variety of holistic spa services and its “Spirit of Loretto” signature aromatherapy blends. Other recreational amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center, full concierge services, specialty shops and art galleries.
Several Santa Fe galleries showcase their artwork throughout the property and the hotel has an artist-in-residence program. Moreover, in 2013, the design team of Zimmer Associates updated the two-story penthouse.

Loretto is one of an 11-property portfolio in New Mexico managed by Heritage Hotels and Resorts. In May 2017, the company will open the luxury historic hotel in old town Albuquerque, Hotel Chaco.
