A second Hilton Garden Inn hotel is on the way for Greater Memphis.  According to news reports, Globus Partners filed a $5 million construction permit to develop a 124-key, five-story hotel on a swath of undeveloped land at 79555 Market Plaza Drive. The Memphis Daily News reported that no general contractor or architect has been listed on the permit.

According to real estate website PropertyShark.com, the 2.75-acre vacant land was purchased in February 2009 for $1,020,042 via a special warranty deed. The same source estimated the 2012 market value for the land to be $950,000. The land is part of the Market Plaza Drive Galleria of Memphis 2nd Amendment Outline Plan.

All Hilton Garden Inn properties feature amenities such as fitness center, 24-hour business center, complimentary Wi-Fi, meeting spaces as large as 10,000 square feet,  on-site catering, hotel restaurant, 24-hour Pavilion Pantry convenience mart, in-room HD flatscreens. Most locations also feature indoor or outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool, as well as a signature Pavilion Lounge bar.

Currently one other Hilton Garden Inn-branded hotel exists in the Memphis Metropolitan Area. Located at 6671 Towne Center Loop, in the Southaven submarket of Memphis, the Hilton Garden Inn Memphis/Southaven is located about 30 miles from Global Partners’ planned hotel in the Cordova submarket. The 177-key Southaven Garden Inn features all the amenities offered by the Hilton Garden Inn brand, which has 570 locations globally and is continually expanding. It boasts 10 operational or soon-to-open hotels in Tennessee and nine in Mississippi, including the Southaven location.
