Global Annual Property Index

Capital growth was positive in all the markets though in the U.K. it was just 0.6 percent.

With the release of the MSCI Global Annual Property Index due on 22 April, it will be possible to get a comprehensive overview of how global commercial real estate performed in 2018. In the meantime, we can look at the results some of the constituent national markets achieved.

For the 13 national markets shown on this chart, total returns ranged from 5.1 percent to 14.4 percent. The weakest performance was in the U.K. and the strongest was in the Netherlands. Capital growth was positive in all the markets though in the U.K. it was just 0.6 percent.

While the Netherland’s performance in 2018 puts it comfortably above the other countries, Sweden, Australia, Germany, and New Zealand all also posted double digit total returns.
