Insight Property Group L.L.C. is nearing completion of the Fenwick apartments in Silver Spring. Fenwick started pre-leasing apartments on May 10 and will be ready for its first tenants to move in this July.
Insight broke ground on the six-story building in 2013. It features 310 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. The project was developed on the site of the former U.S. Post Office distribution facility at 8616 Second Ave. Its location, right in the heart of Silver Spring, sets the development close to the Silver Spring Metro Station, restaurants, shopping, theaters, museums, sports venues and parks. It was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
The apartments will be equipped with Energy Star washers and dryers, stainless steel appliances, green-certified plush carpet in the bedrooms, spacious closets and more. Tenants will also enjoy about 11,000 square feet of amenity space, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a clubroom with bar, a guest suite, a resort-style pool, outdoor living areas, a rooftop terrace, a two-story underground structured garage and a private library.
The total cost of the project was $74 million. The Bozzuto Management Co., a subsidiary of The Bozzuto Group, is the property’s manager.
“We are excited to present the myriad colors, textures and personalities of Fenwick to Silver Spring,” said Julie Smith, president of the management company, in a statement for the press. “Fenwick is about creating a home where the relationships, communities and adventures that matter most will comfortably take root and grow.”
