Total employment increased by 1.2 percent or 1,888 people from October 2016 to October 2017, while the total unemployed population decreased by 16.2 percent (1,205 people). The Farming, Fishing and Forestry sector had the largest employment gains at 17.8 percent year-over-year, followed by Construction and Extraction (3.2 percent) and Management, Business and Financial (2.8 percent).
