Appliance manufacturer Electrolux has inked a lease for 600,000 square feet of warehouse and distribution space in Fairburn, Ga. The Class A distribution enter is part of the South Park development and was built in March 2006.

Located at 7780 Spence Rd., the center features 32-foot ceilings and 206 exterior loading docks. In negotiations, Electrolux was represented by UGL Services brokerage team members Chris Wood, Anthony Burns and Jordan Decker. Landlord ING Clarion Real Estate was represented by Chet Koenig of Avison Young.

Earlier this year Electrolux announced plans to locate an expanded customer care center in Augusta. The renovation of that existing facility is expected to cost $2.5 million; it will accommodate 225 new employees by the end of 2013.

With the industrial market gathering steam as the economy improves, lease figures are getting larger. This week, in one of the largest industrial leases ever in Los Angeles, Hewlett Packard committed to 1.4 million square feet at the Cajon Distribution Center in San Bernadino.
