Éilan Hotel Opens its Doors; CPS Energy Acquires Office Complex

The 165-room Éilan Hotel opened its doors on Feb. 1, the first part of a $400 million plan to bring a new level of luxury to San Antonio. The hotel also includes a 10,000-square-foot fitness center, complete with a lap pool and a golf simulation room, and 24-hour in-room dining.

The hotel — and the Pyles restaurant, as well — mark the latest developments in the master-planned community called Éilan, reports the San Antonio Business Journal. This initial phase also includes 60,000 square feet of retail space, 539 multifamily units and 205,000 square feet of Class A office space.

When complete, the mixed-use development will feature 1.8 million square feet of space and cost a total of $400 million. According to the developer’s Web site, retail office leases are now available for tenants. CBRE is the appointed leasing manager for the master-planned community.

In other real estate news, CPS Energy bought a 95,000-square-foot  West San Antonio office complex and four acres of adjacent land. Corporate Office Properties Trust sold the property for $15.5 million, reported the San Antonio Business Journal. The four acres will be used to build a data center.

The property is part of a larger office park developed by COPT, also known as Sentry Gateway. The entire project sits on a 126-acre site, on the city’s Far West Side. Project plans call for the development of 900,000 square feet of office space in several buildings. COPT also sold five buildings in a submarket of Baltimore for $19.2 million.
