Sighișoara, RomaniaHilton Worldwide recently opened DoubleTree by Hilton Sighișoara – Cavaler. The 74-key Transylvanian property, located next to Sighișoara’s 16th century medieval citadel, is the brand’s sixth hotel in Romania.

The upscale property, which was recently renovated, is situated at 6 Consiliul Europei St., just a few feet away from the town’s UNESCO World Heritage site. Sighișoara, a popular touristic destination and the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, is located within a 90-minute drive from both Sibiu International and Târgu Mureș Transilvania airports.

“With its range of facilities, the hotel is perfectly placed to cater to both leisure and business travelers,” said Marius Tătar, general manager of the property, in a prepared statement.

DoubleTree Sighișoara features two restaurants, lobby bar, meeting space for up to 300 people, 24-hour fitness center, spa with dry and wet sauna, indoor pool and complimentary Wi-Fi.

The other five Hilton properties in Romania are: DoubleTree Bucharest – Unirii Square, the five-star Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, Hampton Cluj-Napoca, DoubleTree Hotel Oradea and Hilton Sibiu. Another hotel, the 201-key Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town, is slated to open next year.
