DHC Snags San Jose Holiday Inn Hotel

The new owner plans to complete a $15 million renovation of the Holiday Inn San Jose-Silicon Valley, a 354-key hotel located about one mile from San Jose International Airport.

A partnership between The Dow Hotel Co. (DHC) and an unnamed institutional investor has acquired the Holiday Inn San Jose-Silicon Valley hotel in San Jose, Calif. DHC will also oversee a $15 million renovation while operating the asset. Improvements include restaurant, exterior and entrance upgrades, as well as certain guestroom enhancements.

Located at 1350 North 1st St., the 354-key hotel is just over a mile from San Jose International Airport. Levi Stadium and the Pacific Coast Highway are both easily accessible from the property.

  • 13,000 square feet of flexible meeting space
  • 10,220-square-foot ballroom

  • outdoor fire pits
  • restaurants
  • lounge

“With its vibrant economy and numerous business and leisure demand generators, Silicon Valley continues to command some of the highest rates in the country,” said Murray Dow, founder & president of DHC, in prepared remarks. “With our extensive experience in the Bay Area, we are confident the hotel will benefit from a capital influx and improved management and marketing systems as it regains its rightful place as the market and segment leader.”

In June, InterContinental Hotels Group completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of a 150-key Holiday Inn hotel in Little Rock, Ark.
