Czech Company to Build First Plant in the US
The new $20 million factory will be used for manufacturing, warehousing and storage purposes. Twenty new jobs will be created, including positions in engineering, management and production.

SILON’s Czech Industrial Park
SILON, a Czech producer of technical compounds and polyester staple fibers, is set to invest $20 million in a new facility in Peachtree City, Ga. Through this investment, the company will create more than 20 jobs, including positions in engineering, management and production. This will be SILON’s first U.S. factory.
Good logistics infrastructure
The company produces and sells polyolefin-based performance compounds and polyester fibers that are then used in the construction, automotive, and medical industries. The plant will be used for manufacturing, warehousing and storage purposes.
“In choosing Fayette County for this facility, SILON will find the logistics infrastructure and well-trained workforce necessary to support customers in a range of industries,” Gov. Nathan Deal said in prepared remarks.
In securing this project, Georgia Department of Economic Development Project Manager Joseph Huntemann represented the Global Commerce division in partnership with the Fayette County Development Authority (FCDA). “SILON will be a great asset for our community, both from the job perspective and for the capital investment they will add to our economy. In addition, we look forward to the cultural experiences that will be exchanged as a result of this international company’s addition to our family,” FCDA Chairman Darryl Hicks said in prepared remarks.
