Choice Hotels International Inc., PiNNacle Hospitality Group and manager The Wankawala Organization, have broken ground on Cambria Hotel Ocean City. The 133-key development is set to open in the summer of 2019.

The waterfront development will be located at 309 North 1st St., at the former site of the George Cropper Concrete Plant, providing easy access to the beach, bars, restaurants and retail amenities in the area. The hotel will include:

  • rooms with private balconies
  • indoor/outdoor infinity pool
  • poolside cabanas
  • tiki bar
  • outdoor recreational area and fire pits
  • fitness center

The Cambria Hotel will rise eight and a half stories, offering a 2,200-square-foot multi-purpose meeting space, business center and rooftop bar/restaurant. Contemporary on-site dining will also be available, focusing on local specialties.

The property represents the fourth collaboration between Choice Hotels and PiNNacle and was designed by Fisher Architecture.

“Ocean City is one of the most popular beach destinations on the east coast, and the Cambria Hotel Ocean City property will offer guests tremendous upscale amenities and a prime location to the many attractions,” said Tauhid Islam, president, chief executive officer & founder of PiNNacle Hospitality Group, in prepared remarks.

Earlier this month, work commenced on another Cambria Hotel in Savannah. The 103-key property is also slated for opening in 2019.
