Connextions, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group’s Optum, has announced plans to create 550 new jobs in Centennial. The health care company will open a new solution center this month at 10730 E. Briarwood Ave. in WaterPark Center.
The announcement was made at a news conference attended by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and Stephen J. Hemsley, CEO of UnitedHealth Group. The new 45,000-square-foot facility represents a $4 million investment for Connextions that already operates a technology development center in Boulder. UnitedHealth Group has a total of around 600 employees in Colorado.
The majority of the new positions available are for licensed and non-licensed insurance agents, who will be offered salaries ranging from $30,000 to $40,000. Steve Auerbach, president of Connextions, considers Colorado is “the perfect environment to find these valued employees.”
Gov. John Hickenlooper said: “We are pleased to see this innovative company continue to grow in Colorado. The company’s decision to create hundreds of jobs here is recognition of Colorado’s business-friendly environment.”
In other local news, Wood Partners has announced Alta Aspen Grove will soon complete its permanent financing. Wood Partners completed the 280-unit apartment community three months ahead of schedule in January. The apartment community, located in Littleton at 7317 South Platte River Pkwy., is 84 percent leased and 76 percent occupied.
Tom Polewchak, community manager of Alta Aspen Grove, believes the location of the community is one of its greatest assets. Alta Aspen Grove borders a 600-acre park and has backyard access to the South Platte Greenway bike path. It is also adjacent to the Aspen Grove shopping center and next to the Mineral Light Rail station.
As previously reported by Commercial Property Executive, the Alta Aspen Grove is the first market-rate apartment community of stick frame construction to be LEED certified in Colorado.
