Canadian Home Builder Mattamy Launches Tucson Division

According to a recent written announcement released by Mattamy Homes, the home builder continues with its Arizona growth strategy and launches a new local division in Tucson. Mattamy already has a number of active communities and land positions in the Phoenix area.

Mattamy Homes, Canada’s largest new-home builder, announced that it is continuing to pursue its Arizona growth strategy, and is launching a division in Tucson.

During the second half of July and the first half of August, Mattamy closed on two properties in the northwestern part of the metro area. It has additional locations under review. The 40-acre Rancho Vistoso is located in Oro Valley representing approximately 300 lots, whilst the other property is located in Dove Mountain in Marana and includes 180 lots.

Mattamy already has a number of active communities and land positions in the Phoenix area. It is one of the largest privately owned companies of its kind in North America. The firm has with built more than 60,000 homes in hundreds of communities across Canada and the United States. Its main markets are the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton in Canada and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Charlotte, Phoenix, Tucson, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa-Sarasota in the US.

Josh Robinson is entrusted with leading the company’s newest division. He joined Mattamy Homes in early August as president of the Tucson Division and he is accountable for leading all aspects of Mattamy’s business in Tucson. Initially, this will include sourcing and analyzing land acquisition opportunities, community and product development, as well as establishing key team members and opening a local office and design center, according to the announcement by Mattamy.

Robinson’s homebuilding experience includes various operational roles in Southern California. Before joining Mattamy Homes, he was the director of Operations in Tucson for Pulte Homes, where he spent most of the last two decades.
