The Southgate Square shopping center in Colonial Heights has added another tenant. Burlington Coat Factory, the latest addition to the property’s tenant roster, will occupy 50,705 square feet of space. The new store will mark the discount retailer’s fourth location in the Richmond region.

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer assisted in the lease. Senior Vice President Connie Jordan Nielsen and Senior Associate Allyson Petty negotiated the agreement on behalf of the landlord, Roslyn Farms Associates LLC. They are both exclusive leasing agents for the Colonial Heights shopping center.

Southgate Square is a 275,000-square-foot power center, located at 116 Southpark Blvd., near the Fort Lee Army Base and its 35,500 employees. In addition to Burlington Coat Factory, the center is also home to other retailers, including PetSmart, Hair Cuttery, Staples or GQ Menswear.

Roslyn Farms Associates recaptured the shopping center’s anchor box from Kmart this April. The company demolished the 104,228-square-foot former building and turned it into space for junior anchors. With its 50,705-square-foot lease, Burlington Coat Factory now occupies a large portion of this area. According to Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, the remaining space available for lease can accommodate 10,000 to 50,000 square feet.
