Bridge Development Partners LLC joined forces with Premier Design + Build Group to replace the former Hostess bakery in Chicago’s Schiller Park with two new distribution buildings, according to Chicago Construction News. Premier is expected to complete construction by the end of this year’s second quarter.

The 84,700-square-foot and 72,285-square-foot mixed-use facilities will be located on a 10-acre lot at 9555 & 9655 Soreng Ave. According to the details available on Premier’s website, the steel and glass structures will feature one loading dock per 3,000 square feet, bio retention ponds, 32-foot clear height warehouse space, ESFR sprinklers, T-5 motion sensor control interior lighting and office-to-suit build out options.

Bridge bought the approximately 200,000-square-foot property last year, in a joint venture with Akard Street Partners, the Daily Herald reported. The asset is part of a dynamic industrial area, bordering O’Hare International Airport. It’s easily accessible from Interstate 294, providing access to Chicago and the state of Wisconsin.

Bridge recently partnered with Investcorp to recapitalize a cold storage portfolio in Chicago.
