Brandywine Realty Relocates HQ to Urban Philly

The company will keep its suburban Radnor offices, but will consolidate its corporate operations to FMC Tower at Cira Centre South in the University City area.

Real estate investment trust Brandywine Realty Trust will relocate its corporate headquarters to FMC Tower at Cira Centre South in Philadelphia from 555 E. Lancaster Ave. in Radnor, Pa. Although the firm will centralize its business to urban Philadelphia, the suburban location will continue to serve as a secondary branch, in addition to being a hoteling workstation for employees on the move.

Relocating Brandywine’s headquarters to FMC Tower at Cira Centre South emphasizes our commitment to the West Philadelphia neighborhoods and University City, and reflects the importance of Philadelphia as our largest market,” Brandywine President & CEO Jerry Sweeney said in a prepared statement.

FMC Tower at Cira Centre South is located at 2929 Walnut St. in Universal City, being dubbed the city’s first vertical neighborhood. The 49-story, 2.7 million-square-foot mixed-use tower was designed by award-winning Pelli Clarke Pelli and BLT Architects and it features:

  • Cira Green, a one-acre elevated urban park
  • Level 28, a high-rise full floor with media screening room and a 72-foot indoor pool
  • High-end fitness and wellness center
  • Bright, open offices and conference spaces
  • 10-foot ceiling heights
  • 25,000-square-foot efficient floor plates
  • State-of-the-art building systems
  • A retail pavilion including a coffee shop, pub, gourmet deli, market and Michelin-starred restaurant situated at the building’s doorstep

Mixed-use with a touch of luxury

The tower also includes AKA University City at Cira Centre South, 268 luxurious residential and hotel units spanning across the tower’s upper 18 floors. The complex was developed and it is owned and managed by Brandywine, which has another project underway just adjacent to the building, the 14-acre Schuylkill Yards.

Brandywine joins a tenant roster including FMC Corp., University of Pennsylvania, NASDAQ, Spark Therapeutics, Lutron Electronics, Iron Stone Strategic Capital Partners, Freedom Pay, myCIO and Pareto Captive Services, to name a few.
