Boston’s Innovation District Adds New Housing Development

The development wave in Boston’s growing Innovation District continues with a $62 million housing project that will take shape at 411 D Street. Last week, the Boston Redevelopment Authority approved a mixed-use complex proposed in January by a joint venture between Cresset Development and Clarion Partners.

Suffolk Construction Completes Phase I of $296 M Baystate Medical Center Expansion

Suffolk Construction recently completed Phase I of the expansion and facility-replacement project at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. The 641,000-square foot new clinical facility required a $296 million investment and it is part of a 15-year master plan designed by Steffian Bradley Architects. When fully finished, the project will be the largest medical facility in Western Massachusetts.

Cambridge City Officials Say OK to Google Kendall Square Expansion Plans

With a 7-2 vote, the Cambridge City Council finally approved on March 19 Google’s revised expansion plans that would reshape Kendall Square. The decision comes only days after the East Cambridge Planning Team, an independently incorporated neighborhood association that advocates for the community on issues concerning urban planning, commercial and residential development—rejected the search giant’s original plan for lack of housing amenities.
