BOMA Announces New Officers

Appointments were made in the form of a new chair & elected officer, secretary & treasurer, chair-elect and vice chair.

The Building Owners and Managers Association International elected its 2017 to 2018 officers at the 2017 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Nashville: 

  • Chair & Elected Officer: Robert Brierley of Colliers Boston
  • Chair-Elect: Brian Cappelli of Global X Properties 
  • Vice Chair: Scott Jones of Jacobs
  • Secretary & Treasurer: Keith Major of Bentall Kennedy (Canada)

BOMA Backgrounds 

Brierley has nearly 30 years of commercial real estate experience and serves as managing director of Real Estate Management Services & executive vice president of Colliers Boston. As a two-term past president of BOMA/Boston, Brierley is also a member of BOMA/Boston’s Board of Directors. He also served two consecutive terms on the BOMA International Executive Committee and as chair of the BOMA 360 Performance Program Council before becoming an officer of BOMA International in 2015.

He will have the full support of Colliers in the coming year as he represents the 25,000+ people that comprise the BOMA International organization,” said Tom Hynes, CEO of Colliers, in prepared remarks. 

Cappelli has more than two decades of experience in the industry and is currently vice president of Asset Management at Global X Properties. He served two terms as president of BOMA/Greater Cleveland and four years on BOMA Ohio’s Board of Governors. 

Jones currently serves as vice president for Jacobs and was an active member of BOMA/Fort Worth before moving to San Francisco. Jones was chair of both BOMA International’s State Government Affairs Committee and the Careers in Real Estate Task Force Returning Veterans Outreach Sub-Group. He also has served two terms on the BOMA International Executive Committee.

Major is executive vice president of Real Estate Services with Bentall Kennedy in Toronto. Major is responsible for the property management, operations, leasing and development activities undertaken by the company for their Canadian office and industrial portfolio. He served on the BOMA International Executive Committee for four years and currently serves as vice chair of the International Council.
