Avison Young Hires New Principal

Scott Martin has more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience. In the new role, he will help grow the firm’s Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey health-care portfolio.

After hiring a principal in Boston last month, Avison Young has selected Scott Martin as its newest principal. He will be responsible for the further growth of the company’s medical office service sector in the Greater Philadelphia region. He will also continue providing office-tenant representation, landlord representation and investment sales services within the health-care sector across Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey.

Martin has more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience. Throughout his career, he handled tenant representation and relocation, lease negotiations, project leasing, financial analysis, investment analysis, and landlord representation operations. His diverse roster of clients included the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Mid-Atlantic Retina, The Rothman Institute, Tenet Health System, Welltower, MetLife, Rutgers University, Siemens and Liberty Mutual, among others.

Prior to joining the company, he served as senior vice president at Markeim-Chalmers Inc., where he handled leasing and sales efforts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. From 2003 to 2007, he was a senior advisor with Grubb & Ellis. Before that, he held vice president positions at Wachovia and Morgan Stanley. 

The recently appointed principal earned a BBA from Temple University and is a licensed real estate salesperson in Pennsylvania, as well as New Jersey. Additionally, he is a member of CoreNet Global and TriState Commercial Office Associates.
