Suzann D. Silverman is editorial director of CPE. She has covered the commercial and multifamily real estate industry since 1995, becoming editor-in-chief of Commercial Property Executive (formerly Commercial Property News) in 1998 and editorial director of both CPE and Multi-Housing News in 2016. STORE Capital Acquired Advanced Control Systems Building
STORE Capital – an Institutional REIT, bought Advanced Control Systems Building a 49,436 square foot office/warehouse facility located in Norcross, enlisting the services of Stan Johnson Company. The transaction was worth $4.12 million and the property is leased back to Advanced Control Systems, Inc.
Gateway Center Doral Broke Ground
A brand new mixed use development is coming soon to Doral. DBH Properties, LTD broke ground on Gateway Center Doral in early June and the retail and high-end boutique office center will encompass 84,000-square feet in two buildings. The office component of the development totals around 43,000 square feet.
Osprey Links at Hunter’s Creek Changes Hands
The 424-unit, Class A multifamily apartment community located in south Orlando is now the property of Milestone Apartments REIT, following a $50.7 million transaction announced recently by the investment trust. An affiliate of The Milestone Group, LLC was part-owner in the joint venture that sold the property, possessing a minority interest in the enterprise.
Loehmann’s Plaza to be Redeveloped and Renamed
Loehmann’s Plaza gets a facelift and a new name soon with site works beginning in June and continuing through January 2015. The redeveloped retail facility at the corner of North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Roads in Atlanta will be called Brighten Park. Regency Centers Corporation will redevelop the property and has already secured a lease with The Fresh Market grocery.
Jupiter Reserve Shopping Center Acquired by Elion Partners’ New Fund
Jupiter Reserve has recently been acquired by Elion Real Estate Fund III, LP. The 43,172-square-foot neighborhood shopping center is located at 901 West Indiantown Road, Palm Beach County, at the corner of Pennock Lane.

Three Multifamily Communities Coming Soon to Tucson-Area
The Estates at Madera Highlands, Westview Point and Sycamore Canyon – three master planned properties to keep tabs on over the second half of the year. Richmond American Homes of Arizona, a subsidiary of M.D.C. Holdings, Inc. recently purchased the lands located in Sahuarita, Tucson and Vail and proposed to finish all site works and have the communities open within the next four months.

CPE Collects Multiple Honors in 64th NAREE Awards
Commercial Property Executive netted multiple awards at this year’s National Association of Real Estate Editors 64th annual real estate journalism competition. The awards were announced during a reception on June 13th, during NAREE’s 48th annual Real Estate Journalism Conference in Houston.
