San Francisco City Hall Sets LEED Record
San Francisco’s century-old City Hall was recently awarded the highest level of LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The building is now the oldest property in the entire country to have been granted LEED Platinum Certification for Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance. The rating comes as the result of an ample effort carried out by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, the U.S. EPA and the City Administrator’s Office to raise the efficiency of the asset.
Simon Wraps Expansion of Outlet Center
Las Vegas North Premium Outlets recently opened the expansion of the shopping center. The center has added 25 new stores to its offering, becoming one of the largest properties of its kind in the entire country. Developer Simon Property Group officially unveiled the expansion and renovation project that has also added to the asset’s common areas and amenity package last week.
A10 Capital Funds Refinancing of 2 MOBs
Two medical office buildings from Austin’s metro have been refinanced through a $4.6 million bridge loan. The commercial mortgage has been funded by A10 Capital, is secured by the two Class B buildings, and provided leverage of approximately 65 percent.

Buena Park Auto Center Adds Tesla Motors as Electric Car Manufacturer Expands
Tesla Motors is definitely what you call a company on the up. The Elon Musk-led entity has grown in recent years to a point where their unveilings carry the weight of an Apple keynote. Faced with the need to expand, the company recently sealed an agreement for a dealership space in Buena Park in Orange County, CA. Tesla has leased the space from RST Associates LLC, with both parties being represented in the deal by Avison Young representative, Jodi V. Meade.
Dekker/Perich/Sabatini’s Mixed-Income Housing Wins Award from the Center for Active Design
The mixed-income housing community Casitas de Colores, designed by Dekker/Perich/Sabatini and built in the heart of Albuquerque by Romero Rose, YES Housing Inc., and Bradbury Stamm, is a winner of the Center for Active Design: Excellence awards. The ceremony took place at the Steelcase showroom in New York on May 11, marking its fifth award and its first international award.
Strategic Hotels Snaps Up Four Seasons
Strategic Hotels and Resorts recently announced signing an agreement to purchase the Four Seasons Austin Hotel for $197 million. The acquisition, expected to close in later this month, will initially be funded with existing cash balances and borrowings on its currently undrawn revolving credit facility.
AquaLand Development Acquires Lone Star Brewery
Austin real estate company AquaLand Development announced the acquisition of Lone Star Brewery, the first large mechanized brewery built in 1884. The price of the transaction remains undisclosed.
Dunkin’ Donuts Announces Nine New Restaurants in Albuquerque and Surrounding Areas
America’s well-loved Dunkin’ Donuts has recently announced expanding its presence in Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. The company has signed an agreement with existing franchise group NMR, LLC consisting of developing nine new retail locations: five Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants and four multi-brand restaurants with its sister-brand Baskin-Robbins, with the first one scheduled to open in the summer of 2016.
Zephyr Picks Designer for $250M Condo Project
Joseph Wong Design Associates is taking the lead architect role for Zephyr’s planned mixed-use development on Broadway. Currently known as The Block, the $250 million project will incorporate two residential towers between 7th and 8th Avenues in downtown San Diego.
