Hunt, TCG Tapped for Portsmouth Affordable Housing Project
The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has selected the Hunt Companies, Inc. and TCG Development Advisors, LLC for the redevelopment of the low-income housing neighborhood of Lincoln Park, in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia.
St. John Properties and Somerset Construction Select Elm Street Development to Build 2,000 Homes at Baltimore Crossroads
Earlier this year, St. John Properties, Inc. and the Somerset Construction Company unveiled conceptual plans for the $100 million Greenleigh at Crossroads mixed-use development in Eastern Baltimore County, the next phase of Baltimore Crossroads. Now, the joint venture has selected Elm Street Development as the residential development partner for the project.
Pinecrest Development in Orange One Step Closer to Construction Start
A small village in Northeast Ohio is about to have a huge impact on the entire area. On November 5, residents of the village of Orange voted to approve plans to rezone a residential neighborhood and pave the way for a 76-acre mixed-use project that will bring new, upscale shopping to the region. According to unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, 709 people voted for Issue 51, while 532 were against it.
Cincinnati-Area College Developments Receive Funding, Expected to Boost Local Economy
This July, Xavier University, together with Messer Construction Co. and Ackermann Group, broke ground on a long-delayed apartment and retail development at Montgomery Road and Cleneay Avenue, adjacent to the university’s campus. With a $53 million first phase, the University Square project recently received some help from the Finance Fund. It was awarded $8 million in federal New Markets Tax Credits.

$13M Project to Deliver 129 Apartments to Cincinnati’s Northside in 2015
A new development will bring 129 apartments and 8,000 square feet of commercial space to Cincinnati’s historic Northside neighborhood in summer 2015. The project was announced a few months ago and now it finally has a name: the Gantry. According to Milhaus Development’s website, the Gantry is the first new construction project of its magnitude in the diverse Northside community.

Baltimore’s Highlandtown Middle School was designed by architects Wyatt and Nolting and is considered one of the most important historical and architectural buildings in the area. The seven-story building opened in 1934 and operated until 2005. Last year, Shaffin Jetta and Focus Development, Inc., his company, started a $27 million redevelopment project to convert the old school into luxury apartments.
City Opens $8.6M Community Health Center on South Side
