Two apartment complexes in Howard County have recently changed hands, with an aggregate sale price of about $68 million. Together, Elkridge’s Belmont Station and Laurel’s Ashbury Court Apartments offer 348 units.
Cleveland City Council Approves Financing for FirstEnergy Stadium Modernization Project
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Cleveland Browns fans, as their team recently lost to two long-time rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, in the 2013 NFL regular season. But the Cleveland team did manage to score one important victory. On Monday, November 25, the Cleveland City Council has approved a financing plan for the FirstEnergy Stadium modernization project.
$33.5M Water Street Project Expected to Start Construction in December
Water Street, one of the largest development projects in downtown Dayton in years, is getting ready to break ground. The Dayton City Commission has approved last week a development agreement with the project’s developer, Water Street Redevelopment LLC, a joint venture between Dublin-based Crawford Hoying Development and Dayton-based Woodard Real Estate Resources.
JBG to Open 245-Unit Apartment Community in D.C.’s Shaw Neighborhood in 2015
Washington D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood, located in the city’s Northwest quadrant, has attracted a lot of attention over the last few years. The JBG Companies is just the latest developer interested in this area named after Union Colonel Robert Gould Shaw. The Chevy Chase-based private real estate development firm plans to bring a new, dynamic, mixed-use apartment community at the intersection of 8th Street and Florida Avenue.

Starwood Buys Two Northeast Ohio Malls as Part of $1.6B Deal
Starwood Capital Group, a Greenwich, Conn.-based investment firm, has completed last week the acquisition of seven dominant regional malls in four states, on the West Coast and in the Midwest. The deal was announced in September. Two Northeast Ohio shopping centers are also included in the portfolio.
Downtown Cincinnati’s dunnhumby Centre Reaches Key Milestone in Construction
and the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) broke ground on the dunnhumby Centre project in downtown Cincinnati. After almost ten months of work, the project reached an important milestone in its construction, as it received its first concrete pour at street level on November 14. Also, at the start of the month, the Cincinnati Urban Design Review Board approved the design for the new building.

Shoppers in the Washington, D.C. metro area now have a new retail destination, just in time for the holiday season. On Friday, November 22, Tanger Outlets National Harbor celebrated its grand opening. It will feature 80 popular brand name and designer outlet stores.

Pizzuti, Memorial Hospital Start Work On $9.5M MOB In Marysville
Officials from The Pizzuti Companies and Memorial Hospital of Union County broke ground on November 14 on a new medical office building in Marysville, Ohio. The project was announced earlier this year. It is part of Memorial’s plans to relocate the urgent care center in order to provide patients with an even better experience.
