A new hotel is ready to serve Virginia’s busy Hampton Roads region. On Monday, March 31, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Worldwide announced that the DoubleTree by Hilton Norfolk Airport has opened at 1500 N. Military Highway, in Norfolk. The hotel, formerly the Hilton Norfolk Airport, underwent a multi-million dollar renovation project.

American Greetings Corp. has taken another important step towards moving from Brooklyn, Ohio, to Westlake’s Crocker Park. Along with Stark Enterprises and the city of Westlake, the greeting card company finalized last week the transaction to relocate its world headquarters.

Last week, TriHealth and Select Medical, one of the largest providers of acute care in the country, announced their plans to form a partnership and build and operate a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Evanston.

Pantzer Properties Buys Pentagon City Apartment High-Rise for $101.1M
A high-rise apartment community in the heart of Pentagon City has recently changed hands in one of the D.C. area’s largest residential transactions of the year. Pantzer Properties paid $101.1 million to acquire The Bennington from The Carlyle Group and The Bainbridge Companies. The New York-based firm purchased the property through its Panco Strategic Real Estate Fund II, LP.
Miller Associates, Spy Rock Add 334 Units to Richmond’s M-F Boom
In its latest apartment market report for the Richmond area, Real Data said demand was at a three year high with more than 1,200 units absorbed over the past six months. Occupancy has reached 94.3%, while the average monthly rent went up to $909 per month. 3,000 apartment units are currently under construction in Richmond as developers are rushing to meet the growing demand.
CBRE Cincinnati’s Mike McMillan to Represent Proposed Technology Park in Oxford
A proposed 74-acre technology park next to Miami University could transform Oxford into Ohio’s Silicon Valley. Or, as Ryan Howard, a character on the popular TV show The Office, called it, a Silicon Prairie. Recently, Mike McMillan, of CBRE Cincinnati’s Data Center Solutions Group, has been selected to represent this build-to-suit project, find tenants and help get it off the ground.
Value Place Reopens Cleveland-Area Hotels Following $500,000 in Renovations
Value Place, an extend stay hotel chain in the United States, has recently completed the renovation of two of its hotels in the Cleveland area. The two properties are located in Akron and Mentor, and are now ready to receive guests. The hotel brand has spent $500,000 for each of the two renovation projects.
