Arlington is one of the best places to live in the United States. The Northern Virginia community occupies third place in Livability.com’s second-annual ranking of the best small to mid-sized cities in the country, behind only Madison, Wisconsin, and Rochester, Minnesota.
Wilmington College Breaks Ground on $8.4M Center for Sports Sciences
Wilmington College broke ground last week on its Center for Sports Sciences, at the site of the former Charlie Gilhart Soccer Field, in Wilmington. The Clinton County college said it will invest $8.4 million in the project and that its new facility will be ”like no other.”

Developers Break Ground on $189M Apollo Mixed-Use Project
Insight Property Group and institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management announced on Wednesday, September 17, the start of construction for the Apollo, a mixed-use apartment project situated right in the heart of D.C.’s H Street NE corridor. At a cost of $189 million, the project is expected to be complete by early 2017.
DC’s 1800 K St. to Undergo $40M Trophy-Class Transformation
CBRE announced on Tuesday, September 16, that the office building at 1800 K Street NW will undergo a $40 million renovation. The project will turn the property into the District’s newest Trophy-class asset. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2016.
Commercial Properties Realty Trust Buys Downtown Baton Rouge Office Building for $2.2M
Commercial Properties Realty Trust, the real estate arm of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, continues to be active on the Baton Rouge real estate market. After breaking ground on The Onyx Residences, the newest apartment complex in the city’s downtown, last week, the company has now acquired the office building at 500 Main Street.

The Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Innsbrook has changed hands this month. The property at 4050 Cox Road traded for 20 million, according to Henrico County property records.

Joint Venture To Redevelop Historic Downtown Baltimore Buildings into New Lofts
The Poverni Sheikh Group is involved in the redevelopment of another Baltimore historic property. In January, the company announced it joined forces with Management Restoration Services LLC to turn the Raffel Building, an abandoned warehouse at W. Heath Street, into upscale apartments. Now, together with Meisel Capital Partners, it has formed a joint venture called Central Savings Bank Shops & Flats, for a historic commercial-to-mixed-use conversion project in the city’s downtown.
